Time's Seduction

It's a heavy burden that we carry with time
A single second certain to keep us bound up in
What is yours and that can't be mine
It's a guilty pleasure that comes out all wrong
Hiding from the treasure it's easy to find
And it's closer than we thought all along
If you're ever gonna find it
You need an outside view of time
Out here we all exist
As one heart with one mind
There's nowhere to go
It's exactly what you know
Before you learn to think
Let's remember how to go home
It's a thought unfolding and don't it look real
Creation beholding the ripples resounding
Out of Dreamer's untamed heel
It's a big bang booming and everything before
Back when it was perfect it's right here and now
And it's what we're heading toward
It's all in your head
Your body is simply something you said
It's all in your heart
Your feelings are a fine place to start
It's all in your past
Your memories are no more real than your dreams
Nothing will last
The world is not everything we see
There are principles that we abide by
Patterns set in place that we can find
It's a new beginning always on the line
Out of body sinning does not exist
Death is only in your mind

Forty Days

For forty days and forty nights
I stared into the hot sunlight
Burned out my eyes so I could start to see
Lines and phrases disappeared
But shapes and intentions stayed clear
I started to feel like I was made to be
Then I heard your voice whisper
And it sounded a lot like mine
I couldn't make out what we were saying
But reassurance can take some time
The forty-first day, it got here quick
I drank until I was sick
Disconnected spirit from my head
Woke up the next morning
Chemicals were storming
Finally made it home to my bed
Then I heard your voice whisper
And it sounded a lot like mine
We were begging me to cool it
Before I step out of line
I made myself a promise
To stay where I could hear
The voice inside the silence
The reason why I'm here
