about

A couple months ago, Miah and I started talking about putting a band around my songs. This is an idea I've had for years, but can never seem to get it to stick. Miah had the idea of starting it like a studio band. This would allow for each person to dedicate the time on their own watch. Honestly, it's still just an idea. This track is my first "studio session." Other players are in the works (Miah on bass, not yet present on this track). Stick around. Let's see what happens.

lyrics

Have you ever been so big
Outside of your body, looking back
You don't know where it begins
Validated by your friends
You feel like a kid

Then the walls begin to speak
You think you're hearing voices then
You realize, "Oh god, that's me.
They can hear what I think."
Please do not tell them

It never withers
If they're in, I'll reconsider
It does not matter
If they win, what's with these patterns
They tell me when to eat
They tell me when to sleep
They tell me I'm something

Have you ever been so sad
A blurry pressure building
About two feet outside your head
Can they see it on my face
Or in my legs

Then a cloud begins to speak
Deep beyond the grey, there's a sun
Saying, "Please see me.
I've been who you are
Since before you could speak."

It never withers
If he's in, I'll reconsider
It does not matter
If the space I'm in has no patterns
I'll know when to eat
I'll know when to sleep
I'll know that I'm dreaming
